Self-guided tours for groups are available during the Museum’s hours of operation. However, in order to protect the Museum’s objects, we reserve the right to limit the number of visitors allowed inside the Museum at any given time. Therefore, if you are planning a self-guided tour to the Museum with your group, please call ahead to insure we can accommodate your group. Guided tours are available for groups consisting of at least ten or more individuals. A seasonal picnic area is also available for groups of ten or more. Guided tours and the picnic facilities must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guided Group tours for K-3: The Museum’s tour for children in this age group consists of a guided tour of the Museum and also includes interactive programming during the tour to spark interest and keep the children motivated. Interactives done during the tour include the bucket brigade and a parade activity, as well as creative play on selected fire trucks. During their time at the Museum, children also participate in programming in the Museum’s McCadam Cheese Discovery Room. This program includes learning when to dial 9-1-1, how to dial 9-1-1 identifying fire hazards in the home and re-enforcing craft projects that are completed in the Discovery Room during the visit.
Other Guided Group Tours: Whether you’re a senior citizens group, a Cub Scout group, a pre-school group or an antique apparatus collectors group, the Museum can offer you a guided tour that will be enjoyable and educational for your members.
