The Art of the Artisan
Come and explore the skills artisans used to make various handicrafts and make some cool crafts of your own! This program explores the Museum collection, revealing artisans work from the past, as well as providing live demonstrations by today’s artisans. Children will learn about leather craftsman, basketweavers, gilders and much, much more. Each week children will have the opportunity to explore a different craft technique and then use a similar technique to create a craft of their own to take home. Join us for all the learning and fun! This program is for kids ages 8 to 12 years old.
There are two sessions to choose from:
Every Wednesday- July 3rd through August 14th
Time: 10:00 am -1:30pm
Every Tuesday- July 9th through August 13th
Time:10:00 am -1:30pm
This program is free, but pre-registration is required. Please ask for a registration packet at the Visitor Services desk at the Museum or download a packet from this page. Packets must be received by June 26, 2013 and students will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis until the program is full.
